Bee was still reeling from suffering two miscarriages when her friend posted photos of a dog and cat she was fostering and needed forever homes for.

"Charlie was 2 and Mazzy was 5 months old. I asked Mark if we could have them and he said no. I went to go visit my girlfriend when she had them and I said, um, I think I’m going to take them home. So I took them home and Mark wouldn’t talk to me or the cat or the dog for weeks. Well, he would kind of talk to me but he wouldn’t talk to them because he’s an animal person and he didn’t want to get attached. I really feel that they saved me, and him, because they’re our babies. Ironically, they’re around the same ages as the babies that we lost."
